![]() DIY is life y'all, and yesterday I ventured into new territory. I have a ton of old Mason Jars because I love canning. I also love Farmhouse Style (as you well know) and so I wanted to make some cute jars for storage. I decided to play around with some buffalo check napkins I had to see what I could come up with, and the results were stunning! I started out with a QUART WIDE MOUTH JAR, some MOD PODGE and my NAPKINS. This simple little DIY project is so easy, but so amazing when finished! Simply take your jar and lightly spread the Mod Podge all over the outside with a brush. Then, you'll start wrapping your one layer napkin (if your napkins are two-ply you'll need to pull them apart gently to get the side you are wanting to use. Carefully place it on the jar and begin to lightly press it down all the way around. When you're done, lightly brush over it to be sure it's all secured to the jar, then set it upside down to dry. Next, use your HOT GLUE GUN to secure the seal and ring together for your lid, and choose a paint color to paint it. I chose Apple Barrel Paint "KEY WEST", and some Apple Barrel WHITE paint to accent it. Then I sat it on the bottle of white paint to dry. Typically at this point, if I'm in a hurry, I will sit both the jar and the lid in a 175-degree oven for about 10 mins to dry quickly. If I'm not in a hurry I simply let it air dry for 12 hours. Either way, the only step left is to tie a piece of twine around the jar mouth opening and to write whatever you like on the side. This particular jar got the word "STUFF" written on it. I would have done it in BLACK PAINT PEN, but I didn't have one, so instead, I used a BLACK SHARPIE. The Sharpie works great too.
The final product is great for bathroom storage, kitchen storage, or just about anything you like. You could also make three or four of the same size and put them in a little wood box on your dining room table with some foliage. That would be lovely. I hope you enjoyed this DIY Farmhouse Style Craft, and if you try it, let me know how it goes. Show me what YOU come up with. I'd love to see it.
