I just love the Dollar Tree! There are so many great things you can use to decorate your home with, you just need a little imagination. This adorable front porch sitter was created using an old board from a pallet, and a Halloween Decoration from the Dollar Tree. Check out how I did it!
Here's what you'll need:
1-Pallet board cut in two pieces (approx 24" each)
2-pieces of scrap wood to secure your pallet boards together
1-Three pumpkin Halloween Decoration from the Dollar Tree
1-Yarn, the color of your choice (I used orange)
1-Burlap Ribbon for stem
1-Raffia to decorate each pumpkin and your larger bow
1-Green garland from Walmart. (or similar)
1-small buffalo check ribbon with wire edge (or similar)
1-large buffalo check ribbon with wire edge (or similar)
Using this Halloween Decoration from the Dollar Tree to start, I unwrapped the frillies off of it and discarded them. I then took the frame of one, and some yarn and tied one end of the yarn at the bottom, then I began to wrap the pumpkin frame.
Slowly I wrapped it from side to side to the top of the pumpkin, excluding the stem. I then secured the edges and the end piece with some hot glue.
I wrapped the stem with some burlap ribbon and secured it with hot glue. I then created a bow out of some wire edge buffalo check ribbon.
When the bow was made I created a raffia bow out of some raffia and cut the edges. I placed the raffia bow down on the pumpkin and hot glued in place. I then put the little buffalo check bow on top of the raffia and hot glued in place. I repeated this process for the other two pumpkins.
I created a larger bow for the bottom of the porch sitter out of a wider buffalo check ribbon, some green garland, and some raffia.
When done, we cute one slat from an old pallet and then cut it in half. We secured the two pieces of wood together, side by side, with some scrap wood pieces on the backside. I then used hot glue and E600 together to secure the pumpkins and the larger bow to the boards, and that's it!
This project was cost-effective, easy, and turned out great! Let us know if you try to make one too!
I'm sure y'all know by now, back last fall the Dollar Tree upped their Crafting game. For crafters like us, this is exciting. Well, now that we've been through the whole COVID-19 lock down, and many stores are opening back up, shelves are seriously being stocked up, and it's worth a look at your local store! I've been in several stores around me in the past couple of weeks, and the craft items are abundant! Check out some of the awesome stuff the dollar tree is carrying for crafters!
One of the best deals they're currently offering in their craft section is this three-pack of finger protectors. If you're a crafter, you know these babies are imperative for keeping you from burning your fingers when you're using your glue gun. They have similar finger protectors at Amazon, and other places, including Hobby Lobby, but for only $1, this is a fabulous deal! Be sure to pick yourself up some!
They have also restocked on all their wood crafting pieces. Lots of crosses, words, smaller animals, circles, flowers, even some cute wood cubes There are just so many it's hard to name them all, but it's worth a look because there's so much you can do with all these wood pieces when upcycling and crafting, and for only $1 each, you simply cannot go wrong!
Grapevine wreaths, wreath forms, and other wood wreaths are also available in the craft or floral section. These are a fraction of the cost that you'll pay at other craft stores or general merchandise stores. They're a bargain, so grab a few if you run onto an isle packed like this one! Not all my stores had so many choices, but a few did. You won't want to miss them! They also have the heart and ribbon forms for door hangers! Mine still had the hearts even now.
One of the things that I've found to be an amazing deal, although sometimes they're difficult to find is their canvases. At $1 for an 8x10, this is an amazing price compared to other craft and box stores. They have a variety of sizes and the quality is quite good. If you run onto these in your Dollar Tree store grab a few! You won't find a better price anywhere!
There are so many good things at the Dollar Tree for crafters, not just in the craft section, but in seasonal, kitchen, household and more, however with this newest addition of craft items and the expansion of the Crafter's Square Section the Dollar Tree has truly upped their game, and at $1 per item, you better RUN to the Dollar Tree (if yours is currently open) to see these newly stocked shelves with numerous crafting items you can't get anywhere cheaper.
From paint to glitter, to beads and glue, felt and wood pieces, floral items, and more. There's just so much you can now buy at the Dollar Tree that wasn't always there, and the new additions make crafting more cost-effective than ever!
Let me know what you find at your Dollar Tree! I'd love to hear about it in the comments below, and don't forget to share this information with your friends!
Until next time!
