I just love the Dollar Tree! There are so many great things you can use to decorate your home with, you just need a little imagination. This adorable front porch sitter was created using an old board from a pallet, and a Halloween Decoration from the Dollar Tree. Check out how I did it! Here's what you'll need: 1-Pallet board cut in two pieces (approx 24" each) 2-pieces of scrap wood to secure your pallet boards together 1-Three pumpkin Halloween Decoration from the Dollar Tree 1-Yarn, the color of your choice (I used orange) 1-Burlap Ribbon for stem 1-Raffia to decorate each pumpkin and your larger bow 1-Green garland from Walmart. (or similar) 1-small buffalo check ribbon with wire edge (or similar) 1-large buffalo check ribbon with wire edge (or similar) Hot Glue/Gun E6000 Using this Halloween Decoration from the Dollar Tree to start, I unwrapped the frillies off of it and discarded them. I then took the frame of one, and some yarn and tied one end of the yarn at the bottom, then I began to wrap the pumpkin frame. Slowly I wrapped it from side to side to the top of the pumpkin, excluding the stem. I then secured the edges and the end piece with some hot glue. I wrapped the stem with some burlap ribbon and secured it with hot glue. I then created a bow out of some wire edge buffalo check ribbon. When the bow was made I created a raffia bow out of some raffia and cut the edges. I placed the raffia bow down on the pumpkin and hot glued in place. I then put the little buffalo check bow on top of the raffia and hot glued in place. I repeated this process for the other two pumpkins. I created a larger bow for the bottom of the porch sitter out of a wider buffalo check ribbon, some green garland, and some raffia.
When done, we cute one slat from an old pallet and then cut it in half. We secured the two pieces of wood together, side by side, with some scrap wood pieces on the backside. I then used hot glue and E600 together to secure the pumpkins and the larger bow to the boards, and that's it! This project was cost-effective, easy, and turned out great! Let us know if you try to make one too! XOXO, Jen

God has made me a messenger, saying the hard things. One thing I can be certain of in my life. As I speak the Truth of God, many will be angered and come against me. If you speak the truth of God, you should expect the same, do it anyway. CLICK HERE for a downloadable .pdf of these scriptures. Behold, the Word of God1 Corinthians 6:8-10 8 No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brethren! 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor [a]homosexuals, nor [b]sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. Leviticus 20:13 13 If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them. Leviticus 18:22 22 You shall not lie with a male as [a]one lies with a female; it is an abomination. 1 Timothy 1:8-11 8 But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers10[a]and[b]immoralmen [c]and homosexuals [d]and kidnappers [e]and liars [f]and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, 11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted. James 1:12-18 12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has [a]been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted [b]by God”; for God cannot be tempted [c]by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. 15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin [d]is accomplished, it brings forth death. 16 Do not be [e]deceived, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or [f]shifting shadow. 18 In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be [g]a kind of first fruits [h]among His creatures. Mark 8:33-38 33 But turning around and seeing His disciples, He rebuked Peter and *said, “Get behind Me, Satan; for you are not setting your mind on [a]God’s interests, but man’s.” 34 And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. 35 For whoever wishes to save his [b]life will lose it, but whoever loses his [c]life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? 37 For what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” Romans 1:21-32 21 For even though they knew God, they did not [a]honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and [b]crawling creatures. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for [c]a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed [d]forever. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is [e]unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing [f]indecent acts and receiving in [g]their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28 And just as they did not see fit [h]to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, 30 slanderers, [i]haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. Matthew 7 7 “Do not judge so that you will not be judged. 2 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and [a]by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how [b]can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. 6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. Prayer and the Golden Rule 7 “[c]Ask, and it will be given to you; [d]seek, and you will find; [e]knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you [f]who, when his son asks for a loaf, [g]will give him a stone? 10 Or [h]if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! 12 “In everything, therefore, [i]treat people the same way you want [j]them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets. The Narrow and Wide Gates 13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it. A Tree and Its Fruit 15 “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will [k]know them by their fruits. [l]Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? 17 So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 So then, you will [m]know them by their fruits. 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many [n]miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ The Two Foundations 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and [o]acts on them, [p]may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the [q]floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. 26 Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not [r]act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 The rain fell, and the [s]floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.” 28 [t]When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching; 29 for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes. Matthew 5:17-20 17 “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not [a]the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. 19 Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches [b]others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever [c]keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 “For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. 2 Timothy 4:2-5 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with [a]great patience and instruction. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 5 But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. Galatians 5:16-21 16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. 17 For the flesh [a]sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you [b]please. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. 19 Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: [c]immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, [d]factions, 21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 1 John 3:3-10 3 And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. 6 No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or [a]knows Him. 7 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil [b]has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one who is [c]born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is [d]born of God. 10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: [e]anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother. Hebrews 13:8 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. I hear so many preaching "love", and they're not wrong, there's just so much more to God than love.
In Him, Jen XOXO Things you will need for this cute pumpkin:
Start with your favorite fabric. Cut it into a square, any size you like, the bigger the square, the bigger the pumpkin. I used 10x10, 20x20, and 28x28 for different sized pumpkins. Fold your square in half, then in half again, and cut a rounded edge on the open sides as shown Cutting in this manner will give you a circle. Once you have a circle take a needle and strong thread, or even embroidery thread as I used here, and do a single running stitch around the edge of the circle. When you're done, pull the stitch and the circle will start to look like a shower cap. At this point, you can begin to stuff your pumpkin. Once it's stuffed you'll want to pull the thread pretty tight, but leave an opening for your stem you will add in a few minutes. Now you will make stitches around the opening, creating a square, still leaving the center open for your stem. Once you have stitched the square you'll want to take the needle down through the center and the middle of the bottom of the pumpkin, then loop the thread back to the top and do it again. You'll do this four times and that creates the pumpkin "ridges" on the sides of the pumpkin. When you finish this, make a couple of small stitches at the top to secure the thread in place and cut the excess. Now it's time to hot glue your stem in place. Take the piece of wood, add hot glue, and stick it in the hole you left in the center at the top and hold to dry. Add embellishments as you please. I used Spanish moss on this one. Add the embellishments and you'll end up with the cutest little pumpkin you ever did see! I sure hope you make some of your own! Please share them with us in the "Crafting with that Farm Charm Group" on Facebook if you do!
Until next time! XOXO Jen 1. Competitor coupons at Michaels. Know Michael's coupon policy. Michael's recently stopped accepting competitor's coupons. Check out their full coupon policy for any other restrictions and exclusions. 2. Download the Michaels app so you always have a coupon with you! I’ve seen app coupons for as much as 60% off one item. The moral of this story is, it pays you to check the app before you make a purchase. While you're at it keep a lookout for the “20% off your entire purchase” Michaels coupon because it works on sale items too. 3. Show a Michaels store employee a competitor’s ad and get the lower competitor’s price, plus 10%. Don’t shop in-store without current, local competitors’ ads on hand because if you see an item that’s cheaper at another craft store, you can get the competitor’s price plus an additional 10% off as long as you have the ad to prove it. Also, you can’t use a coupon on top of the price match. So make sure you choose your deal wisely! 4. Use Raise.com to save an extra 10% on top of sale and coupon prices. Buy discounted Michaels gift cards from Raise while you’re waiting in line to check out, and I do mean you can actually pull up the Raise app, buy a virtual discounted gift card, and use it right then and there from your phone. Although you can do this, it does make me nervous that I can't get it all done before I check out, so I typically do it before, but to each their own on planning. This is just another great way to save money! 5. Teachers, military, and seniors can get a 10-15% discount. The key here is to only use your Michaels discount when you’d save more than using a coupon. You can’t combine a coupon with these discounts and there are exclusions. PLEASE REMEMBER: the cashier doesn’t know that you’re a teacher or military unless you tell them. Seniors, please ask for your discount as a courtesy. I know I don't want anyone assuming my age!
6. Seasonal decor goes 60% off the day after a holiday. Holiday decor hits as much as 60-70% off two weeks before a holiday and up to 80% after the holiday. Don't miss these deep discounts! 7. Orange clearance stickers mean GREAT news! If an orange-sticker item sits on the shelf for the rest of the year, it could get marked down to a penny and end up in a Grab Bag, however, there are no guarantees! I think buying when you see the orange sticker is the smart move. You likely won’t get a better deal, even with a Michaels coupon. 8. Take the phone survey on your receipt and get a 25% off or a $5 off coupon. |
